Cracktab AI SEO Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Cracktab AI SEO app for Shopify (the “App”), made by Cracktab (“we,” “us”), collects when a merchant installs it, how we use it, and how it is deleted.
Cracktab AI SEO reads your store's products and content to find SEO issues, and writes the fixes you approve back to Shopify. It works with store content only: it does not collect your customers' personal information.
1. Information We Collect
Store information
- Your store's domain and basic store details
- The access token Shopify issues when you install the app, and the email of the staff member who installed it
- Your app settings and preferences
Product and store content
- Product titles, descriptions, images and image alt text
- SEO titles and meta descriptions for products, collections and pages
- Blog posts the app creates or schedules, and images you upload for them
- Theme files, read to check things like H1, canonical and title tags
Usage
- Scan results, your SEO score and which fixes were applied
- How many AI blog posts you have used this month
2. How We Use It
We use this information only to run the App for you:
- Scan your store and show what to fix in the SEO checklist
- Write meta descriptions and blog posts with AI when you ask for them
- Compress product images and save the smaller versions to your store
- Fill missing image alt text
- Publish scheduled blog posts at the time you choose
We do not sell your data or your customers' data, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Who We Share It With
We share data only with the services the App needs to work:
- Shopify: reading and updating your store content through the Shopify APIs.
- AI provider: product details, topics and keywords are sent to a third-party AI model to write meta descriptions and blog posts. No customer data is sent.
- Cloud hosting and database providers: running the app and storing its data.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
4. How Long We Keep It
- Your data is kept while the app is installed.
- When you uninstall, Shopify asks us to erase your store's data and we delete it. Changes already saved to your store (meta descriptions, alt text, images, blog posts) stay in your store, because they are your content.
5. Your Rights
You can change or delete your settings in the App at any time, and uninstalling the App removes your store's data as described above. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR, the CCPA or other laws to access, correct, export or delete your information. Email privacy@cracktab.com and we will respond within 30 days.
We handle Shopify's required privacy requests (customer data requests, customer deletion and store deletion) for this App.
6. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with access controls on our hosting providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
7. International Transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
8. Children
The App is for merchants and is not intended for anyone under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we change how the App handles data, we will update this page and its date. For significant changes we will also tell you in the App or by email.
